Jesus's Triumphal Entry was a significant event in His life and ministry, marking the beginning of Holy Week and leading up to his crucifixion and resurrection. The crowds shouting "Hosanna!" and waving palm branches recognized Jesus as the long-awaited Messiah, fulfilling prophecy and affirming his divinity.

This event also symbolized the hope and salvation that Jesus brought to the world, and served as a powerful demonstration of his love and compassion for humanity. Ultimately, the Triumphal Entry laid the foundation for the events that followed and is a pivotal moment that emphasizes the significance of Jesus's role in salvation and the fulfillment of divine prophecy.

In this idea, the students in your kids church will get to experience this amazing moment through the eyes of someone who was there: James, the Disciple. (Or, if you want, the donkey.)

The following is a script of the interview between James and a news correspondent who is live on the scene.

[The scene opens with a news correspondent, holding a microphone. A person dressed in Bible costume robes is standing next to him.]

News Correspondent: Good morning, and welcome to our live coverage of the Triumphal Entry of Jesus Christ. I'm here with one of the disciples of Jesus, who witnessed this historic event. Sir, can you tell us your name?

James: Hello, my name is James. I'm one of the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ.

News Correspondent: Thank you, James. Can you describe to us what happened during the Triumphal Entry?

James: Yes, of course. It was an incredible experience. We were all walking with Jesus towards Jerusalem, and people began to lay their clothes on the ground and wave palm branches, shouting "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"

News Correspondent: And how did Jesus react to all of this?

Simon: He was very calm and peaceful, despite all of the commotion. He rode on a donkey, as was prophesied in the Scriptures, and he simply looked out at the crowd with love and compassion.

News Correspondent: That sounds amazing. Can you tell us more about what it was like to be one of Jesus's disciples?

James: Being a disciple of Jesus was the most incredible experience of my life. He taught us so much about love, forgiveness, and compassion. He performed miracles that I never thought were possible, and he showed us how to live our lives in service to others.

News Correspondent: It sounds like you were very close to Jesus. Can you tell us about a moment that stands out in your memory?

James: One moment that stands out to me was when Jesus washed our feet. We were all gathered together for the Last Supper, and he got down on his knees and washed each of our feet. It was a powerful reminder that we are all equal in the eyes of God, and that we should serve one another with humility and love.

News Correspondent: That does sound cool! What was your favorite thing about being a disciple of Jesus?

James: Hmm, that's a tough one. I think my favorite thing was getting to eat all of the bread and fish that Jesus miraculously multiplied. I mean, who doesn't love free food, am I right?

News Correspondent: [laughs] You're definitely right about that, James. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us!

James: No problem! Can I get a copy of this interview for my mom? She's gonna be so proud of me!

News Correspondent: Of course, we'll make sure you get a copy. Thank you again, James!
